Types of Road Studs

- Plastic road Studs

Also known as "cat's eyes", are produced by plastic injection molding process. It reflects light by refracting light through the diamond-shaped cross-section of the plastic reflective sheet. Usually the shell is made of engineering plastic ABS with good high temperature resistance and compressive hardness, and the reflective sheet(reflector) is made of PC material with good light transmission and reflectivity.

- Aluminium road studs

It is mainly produced by cast aluminum process or powder metallurgy injection molding process, but the reflector is produced by injection molding process, using PC material. Its characteristics are high temperature resistance and strong pressure resistance, usually can bear 30 tons of weight, generally used for heavy truck lanes.

- Stainless steel road studs

Stainless steel road studs are a new type of road studs, which are made of stainless steel stamping process, so its cost is very high, but its characteristics are high precision, smooth surface, high temperature resistance and strong pressure resistance, which are very rare in the market now.

- Brass road studs

It is made of copper casting and lathe processing, and the production cost is very high, but of course its durability is very good. It is mainly used for the blind path in railway stations, subway stations and public places, which is very luxurious and upscale.

- Glass road studs

The production of glass road studs includes two processes: grinding and polishing. During the production process of glass road studs, the surface finish reaches optical grade III-IV after grinding and polishing. This treatment not only improves the surface quality of the road studs, but also gives the road studs a self-cleaning function, making it less likely to retain dust and sand, thereby ensuring the durability of the road studs. In addition, the design point of glass road studs lies in the combination of their shape and color. The A part of the mark is made of transparent material. This design is not only beautiful, but also improves the visibility of road safety signs. Especially in rainy and foggy weather and conditions with poor visibility, the reflective effect of glass road studs can play a better navigation role, effectively improving the safety performance of the road and the safety of the driver's vehicle. The produced glass road studs undergo the last process - tempering.

- Ceramic road studs

Ceramic road studs are made using the same firing process as ceramics. They have good wear resistance, pressure resistance, and corrosion resistance, making them suitable for road traffic facilities. To enhance the reflective effect of road studs, surface treatment may be required, such as applying reflective material or embedding reflective beads to improve the visibility of road studs at night or in low light conditions.

- Tunnel wired road studs

Tunnel wired road studs are made of two materials, one is made of ABS plastic that is resistant to high temperature and pressure, and the other is aluminum road studs supplied by cast aluminum. Regardless of the material, they all use LED light-emitting technology to work through a wired power supply.

- Solar powered road studs

Solar powered road studs are a special type of road studs that use LED and solar cell technology to emit light. It is mainly used to direct traffic and delineator the road for drivers to pay attention to the driving path ahead and significantly increase road safety and minimize the incidence of traffic accidents

- Pedestrian crossing road studs

It is mainly used at crossroads or zebra crossings. It is used in conjunction with zebra crossings and white stripes. Of course, when pedestrians cross the zebra crossing or this area, the light emits green light, and when pedestrians are prohibited from passing, it is red light. It has two control forms, indicating controlled or non-controlled pedestrian crossing areas.

- Intelligent road studs

Intelligent road studs are a type of raised road marker, mainly used to improve road safety and traffic flow, increase pedestrian safety, and enhance sensory safety awareness. It uses sensing components, LED technology, big data and intelligent technology, and is cleverly designed. Flashing or blinking road studs are installed along the pedestrian crossing line instead of traditional white lines

- Temporary road studs

It is also called raised pavement markers, which are temporarily used on both sides of roads and ramps. It is made of PU material extrusion, has good flexibility and rebound characteristics, and can still stand up after being rolled over by wheels. At the same time, it is equipped with high-brightness yellow, red or white reflective film to provide a reflective effect.
