Raised pavement marker is also called road stud or cat eyes road, it is a safety device used for road markings to enhance the driver's road recognition ability, especially at night or in bad weather conditions.

Material of Temporary Raised Pavement Markers

Plastic, made of ABS for housing, and PC for lens.

Ceramic, using high temperature ceramic firing process.

Thermoplastic paint, it is an AB mixed glue, an adhesive used to install pavement markers.

Glass, the main component is silicon dioxide, which is fired at high temperature and tempered at the same time.

Metal, mainly aluminum alloy and stainless steel. Aluminum alloy is mainly used in the production of pavement markers, and stainless steel is rarely used.

Type of Raised Pavement Markers

Non-reflective pavement studs, display vehicle lane marking in the daytime and are used in ceramic material.

Reflective raised pavement markers. They are usually one or both sides reflective and made of plastic material.

Temporary raised pavement markers. They are usually made of high strength plastic material which is secured to the road surface with adhesive backing and easy to remove and install.

Permanent reflective pavement marker. They are built from ceramic or glass which are installed using an adhesive or epoxy to permanently bind them to the road surface.
